The committees

The State Parliament deals with highly diverse topics, and most political issues are very complex. This is why committees that reflect ministries’ portfolios are appointed by the parliament to work on the details pertaining to complex political questions. These committees are a compact version of the plenary session, and their composition reflects party majorities in the State Parliament. Typically, the parliamentary groups appoint their own experts to serve on the committees. One overarching goal is to ensure the elected representatives’ policy-making process is transparent. Therefore, the committees generally hold their meetings in public. Subject to available seating, interested citizens can easily attend committee meetings.
